The probabilistic formalism of quantum mechanics is used to quantitatively link the electroencephalogram (EEG) with underlying microscale activity cortical neurons. Previous approaches applied methods classic physics reconstruct EEG in terms explicit physical models neurons and volume conductor. However, multiplicity cellular processes extremely intricate mixtures deterministic random factors prevented creation consistent biophysical parameter sets.
